Infection Control

Fair Oaks, CA Dentist

Fair Oaks Dentist

Hi! I’m Kristina Kuprienko, DMD. As a dentist in Fair Oaks, I’ve been known for being friendly and having great relationships with my patients. Before COVID-19, I was always smiling and giving hugs to our patients. Times have changed, although I won’t be able to greet you with my usual sunny smiles or hugs these days, just know that it’s the same smiling dentist underneath all that gear. Patient safety comes first in my office.

Our practice has always had the very highest of standards when it comes to your health and that hasn’t changed. Every time you visit our office, our primary goal is to ensure your health and your safety. Our strict processes have consistently made the care you receive at Kristina Kuprienko, DMD, both safe and comfortable.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We continue to closely monitor the recommendations of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We are in this together.

Trust Your Health to Our Care

At the office of Kristina Kuprienko, DMD, your health and comfort are just as important to us as ever. Together, we can continue to provide the dental care necessary to keep you at your very healthiest. If you have any questions regarding our procedures or our availability, please do not hesitate to contact our office. We look forward to caring for you at your next appointment.

Socially Responsible Dentistry

We’re not interested in meeting guidelines, we’re driven by the need to exceed them because we know that you and your health are worth the extra effort.

Our office will communicate with you ahead of your appointment to ask some screening questions. You will sign consent that you are symptom free when you are in the office as well as get your temperature taken.

Physical Distancing

If you choose, you may wait in your car and be texted when we are ready to bring you directly to the treatment area. We will do our best to reduce wait times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the office at any one time.

Regular Sanitation

Common touchpoints, including seating, workspaces, door handles, railings, and restrooms are sanitized on a regular basis by our team with effective cleaning solutions certified to kill viruses.

Hand Hygiene

Proper hand washing is one of the most important measures our team takes to prevent the spread of infection. For routine dental exams and nonsurgical procedures, we wash thoroughly with water and hand soap specifically created for healthcare settings.

Personal Protective Equipment

We possess and use all necessary protective equipment, including face masks (N95 and Level 3), non-latex gloves, protective eyewear to include glasses, hair bonnets, and face shields, and protective clothing that will be worn by our team and changed regularly. Personal Protective Equipment is designed to protect everyone in our practice from exposure to infectious agents. When entering the office, we will ask you to use hand sanitizer which we will supply. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use, as needed.

Sterilization and Disinfection of Patient-Care Items and Devices

Instruments and equipment used in your care are all regularly sterilized and disinfected to ensure that your health is maintained, with the use of Caviside wipes. Items such as surgical instruments and mouth mirrors are all subject to rigorous cleanings with ultrasonic baths and heat sterilization.

Pretreatment Rinse

Hydrogen Peroxide and water is provided to each patient prior to each dental appointment. Rinsing for one minute prior to the appointment is necessary to decrease the spread of infectious agents.

High Volume Evacuation Devices

We will use high volume evacuation devices when generating aerosols. Isolation devices and rubber dam isolation will be used to aid in preventing the spread of any infectious agents.

DentAir Vac Unit

As an extra precaution for our patients, we have installed a DentAirVac. The DentAirVac manufactures oral aerosol vacuums designed to remove potentially toxic odors, vapors, and particles away from the immediate breathing area of our doctor, assistant, and patient.

Excellent for capturing dental oral aerosols including:

  • Mercury Vapor during amalgam removal
  • Aluminum Oxide Air Abrasion Particulate
  • Laser Smoke Plume
  • Electrosurgery Smoke Capture
  • Composite BPA Grinding Dust
  • Airborne Blood Pathogens and Viruses
  • Ozone Removal From Immediate Breathing Area
  • Water Spray Aerosols
  • Prophy Powder
  • Disinfectant Control
  • Overall Improvement of Infection Control Program
  • Holistic Approach to Dentistry

Airflow

Our office has windows in every operatory. It has been shown that proper ventilation can decrease the aerosols. In order to stimulate airflow, various windows will be open.

Thank you for your continued trust and confidence in our team. Together, we can overcome these circumstances and continue your path to greater health. We look forward to taking care of you at your next appointment and wish you and your family the very best.
